Ruiz Tortilleria y Taqueria LLC is a family-owned business that began in 2007 in the Houston area. Everything started humbly at the flea market — la pulga — selling Mexican snacks with effort, dedication, and a lot of heart.
The dream was born from Juan Carlos Ruiz, who noticed how hard it was to find truly authentic tortillas like the ones back home in Mexico. He planted the idea, and Aremi, inspired by the vision, decided to take the leap. With the support of her husband Arturo, she stepped forward with determination and heart.
From day one, the business has been rooted in family — especially the Ruiz siblings — and fueled by teamwork, faith, and a shared passion for bringing real Mexican flavor to the community.

Aremi is the heart and soul of Ruiz Tortilleria y Taqueria. Her love for the kitchen and for serving others began years ago in restaurants throughout Mexico City. She fell in love with the energy, the warmth, and the sense of community built around food. That’s where her dream of one day having her own restaurant was born — and now, she lives it every day.
Arturo plays a key role behind the scenes — managing production, handling equipment, and making sure every tortilla is made with precision and consistency. Believing fully in the dream, Arturo invested their entire life savings into the machinery that helped launch the business. His technical skills and fearless commitment have been essential in every stage of growth.
Together — along with the help of siblings, cousins, and extended family — they've built more than a business. They’ve built a legacy grounded in love, quality, and Mexican tradition.

Ruiz Tortillería y Taquería LLC es un negocio familiar que comenzó en el año 2007 en el área de Houston. Todo inició humildemente en la pulga, vendiendo botanas mexicanas con esfuerzo, dedicación y mucho corazón.
El sueño nació gracias a Juan Carlos Ruiz, quien notó la falta de tortillas verdaderamente auténticas como las de México. Él sembró la idea, y fue Aremi quien, inspirada por esa visión, decidió dar el paso. Con el apoyo de su esposo Arturo, se lanzó con determinación y fe.
Desde el inicio, este negocio ha estado profundamente arraigado en la familia —especialmente en los hermanos Ruiz— y ha sido impulsado por el trabajo en equipo, la pasión y el amor por nuestras tradiciones mexicanas.
👨👩👧👦 Nuestro Equipo
Aremi es el corazón y alma de Ruiz Tortillería y Taquería. Su amor por la cocina y el servicio comenzó hace años, cuando trabajaba en restaurantes en la Ciudad de México. Ahí se enamoró de la energía, del ambiente cálido y del sentido de comunidad que se crea alrededor de la comida. Fue ahí donde nació su sueño de tener algún día su propio restaurante — y hoy lo vive con orgullo.
Arturo, por su parte, ha sido clave en el área de producción y maquinaria. Se encarga de que cada tortilla se elabore con precisión, consistencia y calidad. Creyendo plenamente en el sueño familiar, Arturo invirtió los ahorros de toda su vida para comprar el equipo necesario. Su conocimiento técnico y su compromiso han sido esenciales en cada etapa del crecimiento.
Juntos —con el apoyo de hermanos, primos y familiares— han construido más que un negocio. Han construido un legado con raíces profundas en el amor, la calidad y el orgullo por nuestras raíces mexicanas.

Hoy en día, Ruiz Tortillería y Taquería LLC se especializa en la producción y entrega de tortillas frescas y hechas a mano, así como en la preparación diaria de comida mexicana. Desde tacos hasta platillos completos o pedidos para llevar, cada preparación se hace con ingredientes de alta calidad, un sabor auténtico, y mucho corazón.
